ART EXHIBITION OPENS SUNDAY JUNE 27 7-9

A Selection of Paintings, Pastels, Watercolors,
Drawings, and Digital Art — 2003-2004 |
| A month-long exhibition of art works by Phoenix
artist Stephen Michael Barnes will begin with an opening event from
7 - 9 PM on Sunday June 27, 2004. The show is entitled "Pictures
from my House" and will include a selection of works in oil,
pastel, and watercolor. According to the artist's statement, "The
artworks included in this exhibition express in various ways the theme
of 'pictures from my house.' The works have been selected because
of their subject matter - images that might be found in a home, images
of people and places. Done in a variety of media, the works were all
completed within the period of 2002-2004. While the styles range from
realist to abstract, all of the work is intended to create a deep
response in the viewer that goes beyond the purely visual." |

Performing during the opening will be:
violinist Dasha Hlavenka.
Chris Burawa reading from his poetry. Chris is a Chandler resident,
and has published in several literary journals including the GSU Review,
the Hayden Ferry Review, and Ars Interpres.
Steve and Theresa Ferreira will be doing performance pieces. Steve
and Theresa began performing on the East Coast in 1989, and have appeared
at the "Three Apples Festival" in Massachusetts. They can

The Real McKays, the husband and wife team of Lisa and Patrick McKay,
will perform their original acoustic pop music. They have been playing
their music around the Valley for over 10 years. To contact them,
